Performance test
According to the German Animal Breeding Act and the Saxon Animal Breeding Implementing Provision, it is the Saxon State Stud Administration’s task to prepare breeding mares and stallions for their performance tests, held by the Breeders Association of Saxony-Thuringia according to new animal breeding scheme from 01.01.2014.
At the Moritzburg State Stud (founded in 1828), a highly motivated team is looking after training and care of the state-owned stallions as well as the mares and stallions brought here by their owners for the performance test. Many stallions and mares have been prepared and tested since the beginning of the Practices of the Moritzburg State Stud .
The stables near the parade arena, built in 1915, with their large horseboxes (12.5m²), the 800-meters training track, the big riding course and the riding hall (20x60m) offer perfect conditions for preparing and testing young stallions and mares.
Under the direction of the 1st Chief Stable Master Jörg Piehozki with his many years of professional experience in training young horses, there is a whole team of qualified riders and keepers taking care of the horses.

Heavy warm-blooded breed, cold-blooded breed, Haflinger and noble-blooded haflinger
mares performance tests for
riding horses, riding ponies, heavy warm-blooded breed, cold-blooded breed, Haflinger and noble-blooded haflinger
Guidelines
The performance test and the final examination are held according to the Animal Breeding Act and the Examination Guidelines approved by the German Equestrian Association (FN) and the Breeders Association of Saxony-Thuringia for stallions and mares of riding horse breeds in the currently valid versions.
