STERLINGTON is the winner of the 18. Southern German Haflinger stallion licensing in 2019 joining the State Stud Moritzburg. The modern well-lined young stallion bred by Manfred Lientschnig (Austria) brings Tyrol genetics into the breeding area. He possesses the best riding horse points, especially his big, well-built shoulder area and his advantageously constructed croup have to be pointed out. The resulting quality of his basic gaits combined with a lot of drive and power made STERLINGTON advance to the most interesting stallion of his year during the licensing. After the Award he could be acquired by the SGV from Bettina Filary, who had presented him in Munich Riem.
STERLINGTON is a strong-typed representative of the pure-bred Haflinger population. His father Starkwind, son of the world champion stallion Stainz, class runner-up of the Haflinger world exhibition in 2015. In 2017 the win of the guest class at the Tyrol stallion show followed. STERLINGTON's mother, state premium mare Toskana v. Walzertraum-Aufwind, is not an unknown either: in 2011 she was regional and federal champion of the ARGE Haflinger federal foal championship in Stadl-Paura, Austria. In 2015 she followed up with the win of the ARGE Haflinger Federal young mare show and the title as celebrate national champion at the Haflinger world exhibition in Ebbs. In her perfomance test and in various riding horse and behaviour tests Toskana secured herself the first place. This exceptional mare passes her qualities on to her descendants: apart from STERLINGTON she provided the regional as well as the federal winning foal at the ARGE foal championship in 2018 and 2019.
In the upcoming breeding season STERLINGTON is intended for the use via artificial insemination to make these extraordinary genetics available to breeders outside of the breeding area as well.
